Companions has six modes that run on a daily or weekly clock alongside the Campaign: King's Tower and the faction towers, Arena of Heroes, Dream Realms, Guild Hunting, the Vault of Time (Companions' version of the Abyssal Expedition) and Temporal Rift. Most open in the first nine Campaign chapters:
| Mode | Unlocks | How often |
|---|---|---|
| King's Tower | Clear Campaign 2-24 | Any time |
| Arena of Heroes | Clear Campaign 3-36 | 5 free challenges a day, ranked weekly |
| Guild Hunting | Join a guild (guilds open at 3-16) | 3 attacks a day |
| Dream Realms | Clear Campaign 6-4 | 5 free challenges per session |
| Vault of Time | Clear Campaign 8-40, in a guild | Seasons |
| Temporal Rift | Clear Campaign 9-40 | 42-day seasons, 7 Heavenly Cards a week |
| Faction towers | Clear Campaign 10-24 | On a weekly schedule |

Your beast fights in all of these, Temporal Rift included.
King's Tower and the faction towers
King's Tower is a 1,800-floor climb with any heroes, and every floor pays once:
| King's Tower, all 1,800 floors | Total |
|---|---|
| Diamonds | 162,720 |
| Hero EXP | 35,017,000 |
| Hero's Essence | 228,990 |
| Rare Hero Soulstones | 23,220 |
| Stargazer Scrolls | 318 |
| Elite Hero Soulstones | 200 |
Floors 1 to 300 pay 18,720 diamonds and every 300 floors after that pay 28,800. Stargazer Scrolls start at floor 200 and come every tenth floor, one at a time until floor 230 and two at a time after.
The faction towers take only heroes of their faction and open on set days. Each faction tower has 1,200 floors; Celestial Sanctum and Infernal Fortress have 800 each and stay locked until the end of the Campaign.
| Day | Open towers |
|---|---|
| Monday | Tower of Light (Lightbearers) |
| Tuesday | Brutal Citadel (Maulers) |
| Wednesday | World Tree (Wilders), Celestial Sanctum |
| Thursday | Forsaken Necropolis (Graveborn), Infernal Fortress |
| Friday | Tower of Light, Brutal Citadel, Celestial Sanctum |
| Saturday | World Tree, Forsaken Necropolis, Infernal Fortress |
| Sunday | All six |
Each of the four faction towers pays the same totals: 275,000,000 gold, 269,300 Common Enhancement Tokens, 144,000 Hero EXP, 7,830 Rare Hero Soulstones, 1,080 diamonds, 480 Fortuitous Emblem Choice Chests, 400 Hero's Essence, 380 of that faction's emblems, 275 Amplifying Emblems, 72 Rare cards of that faction and 21 Common Hero Scrolls. Celestial Sanctum and Infernal Fortress each pay 192,000,000 gold, 320,000 Hero's Essence, 192,000 Common Enhancement Tokens, 400 Celestial or Hypogean emblems, 300 Fortuitous Emblem Choice Chests and 150 Amplifying Emblems. Because a faction tower only accepts its own faction, collecting those rewards takes a deep roster in each faction rather than one strong Campaign team.
Arena of Heroes
The Companions arena is a duo arena. You team up with another player, each of you picks a tactic, and teammates can use each other's heroes on attack (never on defense). You get 5 free challenges a day, each one pays 300 Gladiator Coins, beating a higher-ranked player swaps your ranks, and results are tallied once a week. If the timer runs out, the side with more heroes standing wins; on a tie, the side with more health left wins.
Each season offers two of four tactics, and you and your partner have to pick different ones. A tactic gives five named heroes 30% more health, 20% more Attack Rating and 15% more Defense Rating:
| Tactic | Boosted heroes |
|---|---|
| Arena Gladiator | Ezizh, Belinda, Tasi, Antandra, Nara |
| Snowfield Hunter | Athalia, Gwyneth, Mishka, Grezhul, Tidus |
| Swamp Guardian | Audrae, Cecilia, Nevanthi, Crassio, Shemira |
| Forest Ranger | Zikis, Thane, Brutus, Eironn, Treznor |
Check which two tactics are live, and which of their heroes you and your partner own, before you pick.
Battles get longer as the arena ages. You start with one team, and the team count rises after weekly calculations: 2 teams after 2, 3 after 5, 4 after 7 and 5 after 10. With several teams the fight is a rotation, and heroes that survive a round keep their remaining health into the next.
To collect your partner's share of the weekly rewards you need at least 20 challenges that week, and your ranks can't be too far apart. Weekly rewards on your own server:
| Weekly rank | Gladiator Coins | Diamonds | Destiny Summon Scrolls |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 50,000 | 6,200 | 4 |
| 2 to 5 | 45,000 | 5,200 | 3 |
| 6 to 10 | 40,000 | 4,300 | 3 |
| 11 to 30 | 36,000 | 3,700 | 2 |
| 31 to 50 | 33,500 | 3,300 | 2 |
| 51 to 100 | 31,000 | 2,800 | 1 |
| 101 to 200 | 27,000 | 2,550 | 1 |
| 201 to 500 | 23,000 | 2,350 | 1 |
| 501 to 1,000 | 19,000 | 2,000 | 0 |
| 1,001 to 2,000 | 15,000 | 0 | 0 |
| 2,001 to 3,500 | 11,500 | 0 | 0 |
| 3,501 to 5,000 | 8,000 | 0 | 0 |
| 5,001 to 10,000 | 6,000 | 0 | 0 |
| 10,001 or lower | 4,000 | 0 | 0 |
Once your server joins a cross-server group, that table pays a little more at every rank (55,000 coins, 6,500 diamonds and 5 scrolls for first). Your best-ever rank also pays one-time diamonds for every place you climb, plus a Chronos Summon Ticket and 3,000 Gladiator Coins the first time you reach ranks 3,500, 500, 50 and 10.
Dream Realms
Dream Realms (the unlock screen and rules call it the Twisted Realm) is a boss damage race. Six bosses take turns, one per session, and each boss has 10 floors whose health doubles every floor, from 50,000 on floor 1 to 25,600,000 on floor 10. Beating floor 10 opens the Infinite Floor, where the boss can't die and only your damage counts. The boss stacks attributes and gets stronger as it loses health. Heroes fight at the mode's Martial Rating level. Each session gives 5 free challenges (diamonds buy more, up to 99), and only your single best attack counts toward your rank.
On the Infinite Floor the fight expands to several teams. You start with one, and the team count rises after 6 calculated sessions and every 6 after that, up to 6 teams after 30; each extra team also adds an enemy to the fight.
Session rewards by rank:
| Rank | Common Hero Scrolls | Destiny Summon Scrolls |
|---|---|---|
| Top 10 | 18 | 6 |
| Top 30 | 15 | 5 |
| Top 100 | 12 | 4 |
| Top 200 | 10 | 3 |
| Top 10% | 8 | 2 |
| Top 20% | 6 | 2 |
| Top 40% | 5 | 0 |
| Top 60% | 4 | 0 |
| Top 80% | 3 | 0 |
| Everyone else | 2 | 0 |
Dual Dream Realms lets you team up with another player and borrow from up to 25 of their heroes, deploying 2 at first. Each Dream Realms team you've unlocked raises that: +1 deploy at 2, 3 and 4 teams. Staying with the same partner adds 5 more borrowable heroes after 24 hours and again after 48. Borrowed heroes are capped at Ascended tier and set to your Resonating Crystal level (at least 20, and no higher than the mode's Martial Rating), with your average gear and signature item levels. You also get 3 proxy challenges per boss to set records for your teammate; they don't use your partner's attempts or count toward quests.
Guild Hunting
Every guild member gets 3 attacks a day on the guild boss. Your best single attack of the day counts toward the guild total, and the total unlocks phase rewards for everyone, paid by mail at 00:00. The total resets after each calculation. The boss changes every week in a fixed order (Wrizz, Dune Destroyer, Apostle of Grudges, Fortune Firecrackers), and from phase 5 you can pick battlefield buffs that raise your damage.
The fight grows over the weeks: one team for the first three bosses, two from the fourth week, three from the seventh and four from the tenth. The guild master or deputy can appoint a Hunting Blade, whose heroes every other member can use in Guild Hunting, and members' activity points become Treasure Compasses that the leaders spend to raise the next day's rewards.
| Guild total damage | Phase reward |
|---|---|
| 1,500,000 | 200 Guild Coins, 1 Capture Permit |
| 3,000,000 | 400 Guild Coins |
| 4,500,000 | 200 Guild Coins, 1 Destiny Summon Scroll |
| 30,000,000 | 400 Guild Coins |
| 75,000,000 | 200 Guild Coins, 1 Capture Permit |
| 160,000,000 | 400 Guild Coins |
| 400,000,000 | 200 Guild Coins, 1 Destiny Summon Scroll |
| 800,000,000, 1,200,000,000 and 2,400,000,000 | 400 Guild Coins each |
| 4,800,000,000 | 200 Guild Coins, 1 Capture Permit |
Your personal reward depends on your best damage that day, in 28 steps from 40,000 to 100,000,000,000. Every step pays 50,000 gold and two chests; the Guild Coins per step fall from 240 to 120 as the steps climb while the Hero EXP rises from 1,000 to 14,500. An attack that doesn't beat your best of the day earns nothing extra, so there's no reason to spend an attack on a weaker team once your best is in.
Vault of Time
The Vault of Time is the Companions version of the Abyssal Expedition: a guild territory war on a large map where members take tiles, collect relics and fight bosses. You need a guild to take part. The first two seasons are fought on your own server, starting 20 and 50 days after it opens, and from season 3 they are global. A global season can't start until at least 10 days after season 2 ends, and a season's map stays up for 11 days.
| Season | Name | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| S1 | Perilous Tide | Your server |
| S2 | Frore Flame Rift | Your server |
| S3 | Frostbitten Rift | Global |
| S4 | Ashen Harvest | Global |
The guild's 10 members with the highest total hero Combat Rating become its Stars of Dawn. A Star can give up the slot to another member who applies, with the Militia Leader's approval, during the first 24 hours of battle. Liberated tiles produce Blessed Essence, which combines into Blessed Relics in Common, Rare, Elite, Legendary and Mythic qualities.
Your title rises as you complete title quests, and each title raises what you can field and pays a reward:
| Title | Heroes | Beasts | Tiles held | Max relic level | Title reward |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Squire | 10 | 2 | 15 | 1 | None |
| Knight | 10 | 2 | 20 | 2 | 15 Common Hero Scrolls, 2 Large Hero's Essence Chests |
| Baron | 15 | 3 | 20 | 3 | 1,000 diamonds, 180 Rare Hero Soulstones, 2 Large Hero's Essence Chests |
| Viscount | 15 | 3 | 25 | 3 | 15 Common Hero Scrolls, 3 Large Hero's Essence Chests |
| Earl | 15 | 3 | 25 | 4 | 1,000 diamonds, 60 Elite Hero Soulstones, 3 Large Hero's Essence Chests |
| Marquis | 15 | 3 | 30 | 5 | 6 Stargazer Scrolls, 20 Primordial Emblems |
| Duke | 20 | 4 | 30 | 5 | 6 Stargazer Scrolls, 25 Primordial Emblems |
| Prince | 20 (25 as a Star of Dawn) | 4 (5 as a Star of Dawn) | 30 | 5 | 10 Stargazer Scrolls, 25 Primordial Emblems |
Action points start at 80 and recover at 4 an hour. If you change guilds mid-season you keep your title but lose your tiles and relics, and you only get rewards from the guild you finish with. The season's boss leaderboard pays avatar frames and emblems to the top damage dealers, and the Glorified Guilds board lists each season's top guilds.
Temporal Rift
Temporal Rift runs in 42-day seasons, and every hero in it fights at level 360. Each challenge costs a Heavenly Card; you get 7 a week, and 500 diamonds buys 5 more. A run starts with a set number of Team Badges for the floor, enemies drop Divine Seals that slot into the badges, and a Stability meter drops after each fight (longer fights and more damage taken cost more). The run ends when Stability hits zero. Every 20th floor is a boss, and beating it clears the seals but keeps the badge levels. The Defense Force takes Elite heroes that have reached Elite+ or higher, and trial heroes aren't allowed.
The normal tower has 300 floors. Floors up to 100 are open from day 1 of the season, up to 200 from day 8 and the rest from day 15. Clearing floor 300 opens the Infernal Chasm, a harder tower that runs to floor 980, with the same Temporal Beacon upgrades; each season you're placed in a Chasm difficulty based on the last one, and the top difficulty has its own leaderboard.
Every floor is worth points (10 per floor in the normal tower, 3,000 at floor 300, and 5,700 at Infernal Chasm floor 300), and rewards pay out by your highest score. One-time rewards pay once. Repeat rewards pay again each season, based on your best score ever, once you've done at least 10 challenges that season:
| Points | Repeat reward | One-time reward |
|---|---|---|
| 200 to 1,000 | 50 Medals of Courage and Small Hero EXP Piles each step | 10 Common Hero Scrolls, AFK Reward Piles, enhancement tokens, 5 Wish Leaves at 1,000 |
| 1,400 | 50 Medals of Courage, 10 Small Hero EXP Piles | 5 Wish Leaves |
| 2,000 | 50 Medals of Courage, 10 Small Hero EXP Piles | 5 Stargazer Scrolls |
| 2,400 | 100 Medals of Courage, 10 Small Hero EXP Piles | 5 Wish Leaves |
| 3,000 | 100 Medals of Courage, 10 Small Hero EXP Piles | Celestwing (Fabled beast) |
| 3,300 | 100 Medals of Courage, 10 Small Hero EXP Piles | 5 Wish Leaves |
| 3,700 | 100 Medals of Courage, 12 Small Hero EXP Piles | 10 Stargazer Scrolls |
| 4,300 | 100 Medals of Courage | 5 Wish Leaves, 5 Stargazer Scrolls |
| 4,700 | 200 Medals of Courage | T1 Stone Choice Chest |
| 5,300 | 200 Medals of Courage, 10 Amplifying Emblems | 20 Rare Enhancement Tokens |
| 5,700 | 200 Medals of Courage, 10 Amplifying Emblems | 10 Stargazer Scrolls |
The 3,000-point Celestwing is the only free Fabled beast in these tables, and it sits exactly at normal floor 300, the same clear that opens the Infernal Chasm. If you can reach floor 300 in one season, every point after that comes from the Chasm.
Medals of Courage are spent in the Award Swap Section and don't carry over to the next season. The Continuum Essence and Continuum Cores that power the Temporal Beacon are destroyed when a season ends, and the Temporal Armillary level resets, so neither is worth hoarding.
