Forked Fate is a second campaign that runs alongside the main one: 1,302 stages across 50 chapters, cleared with your own roster, where a win only counts if no more than one or two of your heroes fall. It opens once you clear Campaign stage 4-20, and every stage you clear raises a separate AFK income that the game adds on top of your Campaign AFK rewards. That income pays far more Hero's Essence than the Campaign does: up to 5,400 a day, against a Campaign ceiling of 1,168.
How a Forked Fate battle is judged
Every Forked Fate battle shows a life counter: the number of heroes you can still lose. The battle is a victory when all enemies are dead and your fallen heroes are at or below the stage's limit. The moment one more hero dies than the limit allows, the fight ends as a defeat, even if the boss is one hit from dying. Running out the timer is also a loss.
| Chapters | Stages per chapter | Allied deaths allowed |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 12 | 2 |
| 2 to 19 | 20 | 2 |
| 20 to 29 | 30 | 1 on two of every three stages, 2 on every third |
| 30 to 50 | 30 | Alternates 1 and 2, starting with 1 |
That limit is what separates Forked Fate from the Campaign. A Campaign stage cares only about the enemy team dying; here, a lineup that wins by trading away two backliners will clear chapter 10 and stall at chapter 20, where most stages allow a single death. When a stage fails on the death counter rather than the timer, the fix is usually survivability (a second tank, a healer, a hero whose control keeps the boss from reaching your carries) rather than more damage. The Forked Fate popularity board in the game lists the 50 heroes players use most in this mode, which is a quick way to see which tanks and healers people trust there.
Rewards for clearing stages
Each stage pays gold and Hero EXP on its first clear, and some stages add items on top:
| Item | Stages that give it | Amount per stage | Total across all 1,302 stages |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | Every stage | Varies | 38,156,800 |
| Hero EXP | Every stage | Varies | 24,496,700 |
| Hero's Essence | 62 stages from 1-4 to 13-16 | 30 or 40 | 2,440 |
| Primordial Emblem | 161 stages from 13-20 to 50-24 | 5 | 805 |
| Amplifying Emblem | 102 stages from 24-4 to 50-28 | 5 | 510 |
Finishing a chapter pays a separate chapter reward:
| Chapters | Chapter reward |
|---|---|
| 1 | 5 Common Hero Scrolls, 50 Hero's Essence |
| 2 | 5 Common Hero Scrolls, 20 Hero's Essence |
| 3 and 4 | 5 Common Hero Scrolls, 50 Hero's Essence |
| 5 | 5 Common Hero Scrolls, 100 Hero's Essence |
| 6 to 9 | 5 Common Hero Scrolls, Large Hero EXP Chest (8 Hours), Large Gold Chest (8 Hours) |
| 10 to 20 | 5 Common Hero Scrolls, Large Hero EXP Chest (8 Hours), Large Gold Chest |
| 21 to 50 | 5 Stargazer Scrolls on odd chapters or 10 on even ones, Large Hero EXP Chest (8 Hours), 2 Large Gold Chests |
From chapter 21 the Common Hero Scrolls give way to Stargazer Scrolls, so the back half of Forked Fate is a steady source of them.
AFK income
Forked Fate has its own AFK reward table, and the AFK Rewards screen shows the sum of both campaigns: gold and Hero EXP per minute, Hero's Essence per day. Fast Rewards pay out the Forked Fate share as well. Forked Fate AFK income is only gold, Hero EXP, player EXP and Hero's Essence; gear and other chest drops come from the Campaign side.
Bonuses don't touch every currency the same way:
| Bonus | Gold and Hero EXP | Hero's Essence |
|---|---|---|
| VIP | Yes | No |
| Subscription | Yes | No |
| Event boosts | Yes | Yes |
| Duo Co-op team-up | Yes | Yes |
The two campaigns pay very differently. These are the base rates at the last stage of each chapter, before any VIP or event bonus:
| Forked Fate stage | Gold per minute | Hero EXP per minute | Hero's Essence per day |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1-12 | 102 | 57 | 443 |
| 5-20 | 150 | 249 | 800 |
| 10-20 | 165 | 726 | 1,217 |
| 15-20 | 177 | 1,479 | 1,964 |
| 20-30 | 186 | 2,373 | 2,618 |
| 25-30 | 198 | 3,474 | 3,086 |
| 30-30 | 228 | 3,981 | 3,600 |
| 35-30 | 288 | 4,545 | 4,114 |
| 40-30 | 348 | 5,106 | 4,547 |
| 45-30 | 411 | 5,667 | 5,082 |
| 50-30 | 471 | 6,231 | 5,400 |
| Campaign stage | Gold per minute | Hero EXP per minute | Hero's Essence per day |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5-40 | 1,080 | 336 | 198 |
| 10-40 | 1,410 | 795 | 339 |
| 20-60 | 1,620 | 2,658 | 576 |
| 30-60 | 1,890 | 5,418 | 1,168 |
| 40-60 | 2,340 | 11,904 | 1,168 |
| 50-60 | 2,670 | 25,947 | 1,168 |
| 61-60 | 2,850 | 41,571 | 1,168 |
Campaign Hero's Essence stops growing at 30-2 and sits at 1,168 a day all the way to 61-60, while Forked Fate keeps climbing until it reaches 5,400 at 50-9. Gold and Hero EXP work the other way: the Campaign pays several times more of both. So the two modes answer different shortages. If your heroes are stuck at a level gate waiting on essence, the next Forked Fate chapter is worth more than the next Campaign chapter; if Hero EXP is the bottleneck, push the Campaign.
Dual Forked Fate
Dual Forked Fate lets you team up with another player and fight with their heroes. A new team can borrow 5 heroes and deploy 2 of them, and both numbers grow:
| Team-up gain | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Borrow 5 heroes, deploy 2 | Form a team |
| Deploy +1 | Clear Forked Fate 4-8 |
| Deploy +1 | Clear Forked Fate 8-8 |
| Deploy +1 | Clear Forked Fate 13-16 |
| Borrow +1 | Stay on the same team for 24 hours |
| Borrow +1 | Stay on the same team for 72 hours |
At the cap that's 7 borrowable heroes with up to 5 in one formation. Leaving the team ends all of it. On a new team the deploy slots tied to your Forked Fate progress come back straight away, but the 24-hour and 72-hour borrow slots start counting from zero, so a partner you stay with is worth two extra heroes over one you keep swapping.
Borrowed heroes don't arrive at their owner's full strength. Their ascension tier is kept if it's Ascended or lower and cut to Ascended if it's higher. Their level becomes your Resonating Crystal level (raised to 20 if yours is lower), and their gear and signature item use the average levels of your own heroes. What you're really borrowing is the hero's kit, scaled to your account, so a partner's hero you don't own (a strong healer or tank for the death limit) is worth more than a partner's copy of a hero you already have.
Once you're on a team you can also send a Proxy Challenge request for the stage you're stuck on. Your teammate fights it using the heroes in both of your pools, and if they win, the stage counts as cleared for you. You get one proxy challenge a day, and the teammate who completes it earns 5 Companion Points. The partner list the game suggests weighs whether a player is online right now most heavily, then how close they are to your Forked Fate stage and whether they share your language, with time zone counting least.
