Mystic Recollection

Cyran mimics some of Merlin's impressive spells, casting them in the following sequence when a battle starts: Enlightening Spell: Grants himself 30 Haste for 8s, during which he is unaffected. Confining Spell: Deals 25% damage to the rearmost enemy, imprisoning them for 1.5s and preventing them from moving or acting. Starshard Spell: Conjures a dark flame across the battlefield, dealing 40% true damage to all enemies and reducing their ATK SPD by 20 for 5s.

Lv.1Increases dark flame damage to 45%.
Lv.1If Merlin is present on the enemy side, Merlin is silenced for 8s when a battle starts, preventing Merlin from casting any skills. Any skills Merlin would've cast when a battle starts are triggered after silence ends, at which point Cyran loses 5% of his current HP. If Merlin is absent on the enemy side, Cyran permanently increases his ATK by 10%.
Lv.1Increases dark flame damage to 50%.

Gravitic Requiem

Cyran selects a tile and summons a black hole that lasts for 5s, with its center covering a 1-tile radius. Every 0.25s, enemies within the center take 16% damage, and those outside the center but within 4 tiles take 6% damage. All enemies on the battlefield are pulled toward the center, with the gravitational force increasing as they get closer. Enemies within the center are immediately defeated if their current HP is below Cyran's 600% and their HP ratio is under 15%.

Lv.51Increases the black hole's damage to enemies within the center to 17% per 0.25s, and to enemies at the edges to 7% per second.
Lv.111Increases the black hole's damage to enemies within the center to 18% per 0.25s, and to enemies at the edges to 8% per second.

Lv.231Increases the black hole's damage to enemies within the center to 20% per 0.25s, and to enemies at the edges to 10% per second.

STORY

**Early Life**

Cyran was born to a noble family of likely high status, studied at the Serene Lyceum, and was a classmate to the current Merlin. However, despite his efforts, the 'best mage' position consistently eluded him due to Merlin's presence. In all likelihood, this caused a slow but dramatic shift in Cyran's personality over time, driving him to an obsession with seeking power in forbidden knowledge. After the second Divine War, where his brother perished in battle, Cyran seized the position of chief court mage after a majority of court mages of the time died in battle. The exact circumstances behind his appointment are in dispute; as to whether he outperformed Merlin to secure the position or if Merlin willingly relinquished it to pursue other goals with their talent.

**Affinity Tales**

• During his time at the Serene Lyceum, Cyran dedicated himself to his studies with unwavering determination. Yet, despite his efforts, the first place always eluded him—mainly because he shared the classroom with the legendary Merlin.

• Cyran hails from a distinguished noble family. His brother, a valiant knight, gave his life in the fight against the Hypofiends. Today, his nephew holds the title of lord, continuing the family's noble tradition.

• A mage once spoke of Cyran's youthful love for sweets, a penchant that seemed to define his early years. But as time passes, his tastes have subtly changed, leaving others what lies behind this quiet transformation.

• The snake, Cyran's favorite animal, is often seen as a symbol of mystery and power. His robe bears a pattern said to mimic a serpent, its form half-hidden in the shadows, a quiet reminder of the secrets he keeps.

• Even as a respectable court mage, Cyran harbors a secret: he still studies Merlin's magic, years after his graduation. Some whisper that this obsession with forbidden knowledge may one day cost him more than he realizes.

• Cyran seems to defy the passage of time, his appearance far younger than his true years. It is said he tends to his body with the care of one who understands the delicate balance between age and vitality.

• It was through an informant that Cyran first learned of Merlin's memory loss, which quietly unfolded soon after his awakening. The circumstances surrounding this loss remain shrouded in secrecy, raising more questions than answers.

• In the wake of the Second Divine War, where many court mages perished, Cyran's vast experience propelled him to the position of chief court mage. His rise was a testament to his resilience and mastery in the arcane arts.

• There are conflicting accounts regarding the court mage recruitment. Some assert that Cyran outperformed Merlin, securing the position, while others suggest that Merlin opted to forgo the opportunity to serve the palace to serve a greater purpose.

• After years within the palace walls, Cyran has become accustomed to a life of opulence. His study, a sanctuary of indulgence, is said to hold a vast collection of jewelry, each piece adorned with gemstones imbued with mysterious magic.
