STORY

**Early Life**

Saida was born during the First Divine War. At first, she was sealed away by Dura, but a fragment of her power took root in the Sylvan Egg. Later, Misarte separated the parasitic power. Saida's residual power was exiled underground along with the Essail. There, it attached itself to a new object and lay in hiding for many years.

**Notable Bonds**

*Dwarves of Brimston Village - After Misarte tore away the corrupted part of the Sylvan Egg, one fragment traveled with the Sylvan Tendril to Salthorin. There, the corruption rooted itself in Eclipsion— a sacred artifact tied to the dwarven god Helthor— where it began to take hold and spread its influence. *Harak - Saida had a brief interaction with Harak inside the Mystical House. However, their instincts seemed too different—while Saida tends to draw sustenance from almost anything, Harak is fixated on the flavor of flesh. Because of this, they don’t appear to get along very well.

**About**

* Saida has no real emotions, only a primitive instinct to survive. * What seems like her hair is actually her sensory roots. They sense the slightest changes around her and can break off to help her survive, like a lizard losing its tail. * She needs to keep growing and storing energy While she's extremely vulnerable in her early sprouting stage, once she absorbs enough nutrients, she quickly spreads her roots and starts feeding on more hosts.

**Affinity Tales**

• Saida doesn't feel much. No rage or joy. Just one driving need... to survive.

• No creature in existence rivals Saida's patience. Though to be fair, she is a creature untouched by the very concept of impatience.

• Saida hates all kinds of extreme weather. Not that any of it can actually kill her. This Hypogean thrives where other merely endure.

• Here's a little-known secret. Saida's eyes and ears work fine. But she barely relies on sight or sound.

• Generally speaking, talking to Saida never elicits a response.

• Saida doesn't need water to survive, but when you pour water over her, she still seems to enjoy it.

• Saida lies much like a plant. Unless she has to hunt for nutrients, she can stay rooted in one spot for centuries without moving a muscle. Only when her sustenance runs out would she finally stir.

• Saida hungers not to multiply, but to endure. Each seed is no offspring. It is her own essence, coiled tight, waiting to reclaim the world.

• Saida cares only for her own survival. Not reproduction. Every seed she spawns carries a piece of herself, a chance at rebirth.

• If she wills it, Saida could hibernate for centuries. Whether bathed in Divine Light or buried deep in molten lava, she would wait as a seed until the moment was right to awaken.
