STORY

**Affinity Tales**

• In Hugin's world, his hammers, work tables, and furnaces are more than tools - they're his closest friends, each one a testament to his brilliant mind and a source of pride.

• Hugin despises anything mediocre or poorly made. He believes such creations waste the creator's life and miss the chance to forge a masterpiece with a soul.

• When inspiration eludes him, Hugin takes his crafted companions out for a drink, muttering to himself all the while. Though his creations cannot speak, they're there to listen. Often, Hugin's random ramblings lead to new ideas.

• Hugin learned the art of forging from a mysterious lady, and her teachings remain with him to this day. She taught him that only when the soul resonates with the forge can the creations have souls of their own.

• Hugin is open about the accident that cost him his leg. Rather than feeling sad, he's amazed that the mishap helped him break through a forging bottleneck: discovering how much saltpeter needs to burn to soften refined iron without making it brittle.

• Hugin cares for his creations as if they were human. He frequently lets them bask in the sun, applies maintenance oil, admires their beauty, and even finds their occasional strikes and temper tantrums charming.

• Hugin's metal leg often malfunctions, forcing him to pause every few steps. He initially wanted to name it Dum-Dum, but it seemed to favor the name Whistler.

• In order to become a top-notch inventor, Hugin is always improving his arm strength! He lifts weights and swings the hammer 500 times a day. He often looks in the mirror and says, "I'm here to pump you up!"

• No matter how bleak the situation, Hugin remains cheerful. The only thing that irks him is when his inventions get cranky and refuse to work. He firmly believes that at such times, he must comfort them as he would a small, distressed animal.

• Hugin dislikes rainy days because his metal creations can rust in prolonged humidity, which makes them very unhappy.
