**Early Life**

In early life Kruger was just as stubborn and power-hungry as the rest of the Grimmaw Clan, enduring brutal customs and a tough-love community. Even butting heads with his brother for the title of chief. Nevertheless, he still stuck in the clan, challenging many foes great and small to achieve strength, But that all changed one day after an accident against a foe threatening his clan. This encounter cost him losing his left eye, and ever since the incident Kruger had endured a reality check. He realized that he was mortal no matter how strong he was. The mere thought of morality caused him to be more irritable, thus often lashing out much harsher as he adapted to his new way of life. During this period was when he met Brutus, the two were often seen dueling in combat. Although Kruger was easily defeated, instead of being thrown out for what the bear thought was weakness, Brutus showed him compassion. He helps his fellow Mauler to his feet and this encounter was the seed that started Kruger to rethink his beliefs in what he's been raised knowing in the Grimmaw Clan.

**Affinity Tales**

• It took Kruger a long time to adapt to his diminished vision. To prevent his enemies from taking advantage of it, his attacks were especially savage during that period.

• Most people are unaware that Kruger once challenged his tribe leader in his youth, only to be brutally defeated by his elder brother.

• They say that Kruger sometimes awakens with his eyepatch over the wrong eye, which briefly scares him into thinking that he has gone completely blind.

• Kruger never cuts his food into bite-sized portions. If his food is too big to eat, he always tears it apart first.

• Kruger's attire is ill-suited for covert operations, which suits him just fine. A fearless warrior, he welcomes all challengers and vengeance-seekers.

• Kruger's axe is often chipped in battle, making him a favorite among blacksmiths and weapon dealers.

• Kruger has his own way of judging strength and weakness, though it goes against the traditions of the Grimmaw Clan. As a result, he never mentions it.

• Like any other Mauler, Kruger seeks glory through battle. This is especially true of battles in which his opponents are too powerful to defeat.

• Kruger lost his eye in battle while defending the honor of his clan. Ever since then, his personality has undergone drastic changes.

• Kruger once challenged Brutus to a duel. After a dozen or so attacks, Brutus easily defeated him. "That was a good fight, Kruger, but you still have a long way to go before you can best me," Brutus declared before helping him up.
