STORY
**Affinity Tales**
• In life, the radiant Shemira found her heart ensnared by the young healer Niru. There was something utterly enchanting in the way he lost himself to the pages of his medical texts, a charm that stirred her soul.
• "We were in love... until the war called him away," Shemira murmured, her voice heavy with memory. "And from that moment on, until Daimon's last breath, I despised him with fury I could not contain."
• Shemira and Niru are blessed with a son, Daimon. He is a sweet child, but one marked by frailty from his first breath. A strange ailment clung to him beyond even Niru's skilled hands to cure.
• Shemira is a master seamstress. While Niru served in the army, she spent endless nights sewing to earn enough coin to support her family and cover Daimon's medical care. As a result of her nightly labor, her eyesight grew worse.
• "I heard they hanged her man as a murderer, and her son died of illness... She wept until no tears remained, and even the light of eyes abandoned her... Such a cruel fate." —Whispers of the elders in town
• When Niru returned, no longer human but Graveborn, he breathed life into Daimon's still form and resurrected the boy. Shemira, seeing her family reunited in death's embrace, surrendered her mortal life without a second thought and joined them.
• Although her Graveborn transformation has restored her sight, Shemira still keeps her eyes veiled. Some habits transcend death, and it commemorates the woman who once gave up everything for her family.
• "My dear Shemira, no matter what it is, you will always have the final say." —Niru
• Her transformation burned away her mortal anguish, purifying grief into protective energy. What was sorrow now floats before her as a luminous sphere of condensed emotion. Her pain has become her power.
• Shemira now watches over Daimon with fierce devotion. Some may even call her an overbearing mother. However, in this second life, she will not allow him to endure the sorrows that once plagued them when they were living.
