**Early Life**

Smokey and Meerky's early lives were marked by poverty and challenges, with Smokey shouldering the responsibility of raising Meerky alone and making significant sacrifices. Despite Smokey's quirks and troubled past, his bond with Meerky is undeniably strong and filled with love.

**Affinity Tales**

• Smokey made it a rule not to cheat anyone whose life is worse than his own. Interestingly enough, this rule rarely applies.

• Smokey enjoys telling stories to Meerky, who thinks of them as nothing more than tall tales. However, that may not be the case...

• Smokey always saves the best food for Meerky.

• The only thing Smokey does better than lying is begging for mercy. He can drop to his knees in less than a second if the occasion calls for it.

• After seeing him raise Meerky on his own, many people often take pity on Smokey and offer their help. He refuses every time, saying that the two of them have long since grown accustomed to living like this.

• Smokey used to be a heavy drinker, but he quit after meeting Meerky. He claims that drinking does him no favors and that money is too tight for that sort of thing now.

• Meerky knows that Smokey is not related to him by blood but also knows that this older Mauler cares just the same.

• Whenever he gets paid, Smokey always makes sure to give Meerky some spending money, which he has saved to a sizeable amount.

• Smokey can play music by blowing into leaves. He always plays "Rock-a-bye Meerky" during bedtime.

• Smokey loves lying around, basking in the sun. It keeps his belly warm. He proclaims, "Abdominal sunning is good for wellness, sleep, and longevity. At least that's what I heard from some gurus. Meerky doesn't believe in it."
